Life always of presenting you with the unexpected. A passing word will come back to haunt us, or a chapter of our we thought was done will blow itself wide open again. In my case, bonding with a friend over travel dreams led me to utter the words “We should go after school is over.”
And that’s how I found myself, several months later, planning a last minute trip to Ireland.
As a literature lover, it’s a great opportunity for me. The Emerald Isle is home to a host of prolific writers – James Joyce, W.B. Yeats, C.S. Lewis – and celebrates its writers far more than any place I’ve heard of. Maybe if I drink enough Irish beer and see enough Irish sights some of their great talent will rub off on me.
I’ll certainly be kissing the Blarney Stone for the gift of gab.
So I’m off to the land of Celtic legends and the fair folk (no dancing or eating in their presence, I swear).
See you in two weeks!
