Jessica’s Guide for Dating on the Dark Side sure beats Twilight for a load of reasons.
#1. The main character actually has a soul. Thoughts, dreams, plans, a life. All of which serves to make her interesting.
#2. It does not take itself overly seriously, which seems to be the only way vampire romance is tolerable these days.
#3. The vampires DON’T sparkle.
