It’s ESSAY SEASON! But it’s also VEDA! How can I say no to another challenge even though it’ll probably mess me up later on! How can I say no to attempting to make one video every day? maybe this will get me out of my video making slump! You can always be hopeful… right? Right?
My university offers some pretty interesting classes. This term I managed to snag a place in a course focusing on werewolves in medieval to present lit. Now that the school term is finally winding down its time that I start working on my essay. I’ve chosen to focus on the tale of Bisclavret and compare it to Remus Lupin in Harry Potter.
The form of the werewolf has undergone some interesting evolutions in literature. A lot of the mythos that we have come to recognize as common place is actually quite contemporary. For example the allergy to silver and the needing of the full moon to change. Both of these are fairly new additions to a long standing tradition.
Werewolves or men who have the ability to shape shift into wolves can be found in texts as far back as in the Antiquity era. I for one would be interested in researching the point where the vampire and the werewolf started blending together before they went off on their own separate ways.
In this video I discuss the Tale of Bisclavret, the focus of my essay and other interesting facts.
