Oh The Strain, my personal brand of nightmare fuel. It’s good to have you back. Welcome to the beginning of the end.
The apocalypse has happened. Humanity has come to an end. We’ve all accepted our worm-filled vampire overlords. Praise be.
Or so we’re lead to believe. Our favourite group of vampire hunters may be scattered but they’re still trying to fight the good fight. Will our heroes be able to overcome The Master and Eichorst? Will they make new friends only to lose them a few episodes later?
The trailer raises so many questions:
- Wait, aren’t we all supposed to be in cages?
- Do you think Zack has any feelings of remorse or have we been correct in assuming he’s sociopathic?
- Where the hell is Quinlan?
The best part of the trailer has to be the end reveal where Setrakian opens his mouth to expose a stinger. Has our favourite aging vampire hunter been turned? If that’s the case, then you can’t ignore the sweet sentiment that out of everyone the one Setrakian would want to turn the most would be Fet. That’s kind of cute I guess. But let’s be honest here, this sequence is most likely Fet’s nightmare.
I’m hoping that this season gives us a few more wins. Honestly there is no way for this show to end well and I expect to see our heroes picked off one at a time before the show finally draws to a close. But, it would nice to win something. Anything. A small reprieve?
It’s probably going to be miserable, but it’ll be one hell of a ride.
Also, Eichorst honey, you’ve won. You don’t need to masquerade as a human anymore. Accept your vampiric looks. Go noseless. Just be yourself.
