Earlier this month, Chelsey and I had the opportunity to sit down with Peadar Ó Guilín, the author of The Call.
The Call shocked the both of us. The novel had a dark original premise:
Imagine a world where you might disappear any minute, only to find yourself alone in a grey sickly land, with more horrors in it than you would ever wish to know about. And then you hear a horn and you know that whoever lives in this hell has got your scent and the hunt has already begun.
Could you survive the Call?
The Call also boasts one of the most intense and motivated main character’s that I have ever had the joy to come across. Nessa is a great heroine who’s self determination is inspiring.
We were glad to have a chance to talk to Peadar about what inspired The Call, along with his writing process. He’s a self proclaimed “pantser”.
Our conversation also turned to Irish mythology and history which led to some interesting and funny stories.
If you haven’t read The Call we suggest you pick it up and give it a read. But be warned, it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Both Chelsey and I are looking forward to the sequel and excited to see what other horrors Peadar Ó Guilín has in store for his readers!
